Kesteven RDA Instructors

		Karen Thompson, R.D.A.S.I. As the main founder of the group in 1988, Karen is still actively involved with the day to day running of Kesteven group. " Teaching RDA riders improved my ability as a coach. It made me more patient and understanding of the riders' needs. I have really enjoyed my long association with Kesteven group and hope that I can help the new instructors gain the same benefits." Karen is now involved with the World Class Para Equestrian Programme and UKCC Sports Coach through Riding for the Disabled Association.

		Claire Sheardown R.D.A.I. Claire began coaching with Kesteven group in 2005. Starting under the watchful eye of Karen, she quickly showed a great affininty with the riders and a natural talent for helping the riders fulfill their potential. She is now the main instructor with the group and is aiming riders towards the RDA National Championships in 2010. "I get a real buzz out of helping riders gain confidence and make even the smallest step towards independent riding."

		Nicky Webber R.D.A.G.I. Nicky has been involved with the group since 1997 when she first came to work for The Paddocks Riding Centre. After leaving to have a lovely daughter in 2002, she returned as Assistant Instructor in 2008 and enjoys working with the more disabled children. "I love to see the happy smiling faces of the children, sometimes it may be the only time that they really interact with the outside world."

		Lesley Davies R.D.A.G.I. Lesley joined the group in 2005 as a volunteer helper. She was already an Instructor with Notts Pony Riding Group and wanted to gain more experience by working closely with nearby groups. Lesley is now a fully fledged Instructor with Kesteven RDA and has also taken on the role of Joint Regional Chairman for North Midlands area. Lesley feels " That often what we consider to be the smallest improvement can produce the biggest change in the riders' life".
